The Lure of the Sea

Josephine Culbertson

Carmel Beach Scene

The Monterey Peninsula is literally defined by its relationship to the sea, and it is fitting that the art of an important period in the area's history is likewise defined in relation to the sea.

We hope that you have enjoyed these selections from the museum's permanent collection. We encourage you to visit the museum to see the beauty of the paintings first hand.
