The Lure of the Sea

Armin Carl Hansen
Nino, ca. 1922
oil on canvas, 50 1/2 x 60 1/8 inches
With all of its appealing features: rocky tide pools, breaking waves, windswept dunes, vast ocean vistas, fog and mist enshrouded trees; the area around the peninsula had enough, not only to lure artists here, but to keep them painting for years.

Armin Carl Hansen
Making Her Easting, completed 1946
oil on canvas, 40 1/4 x 50 1/4 inches
