One of the finest privately-owned collections of African-American Art, the Waiter O. Evans Collection features a comprehensive look at the work of some of the most important artists of the 19th and 20th Centuries. Included are works by Edward M. Bannister, Henry Ossawa Tanner, Edmonia Lewis, Robert S. Duncanson, Romare Bearden, Charles White, Elizabeth Catlett, and Jacob Lawrence.

Organization: Waiter O. Evans of Detroit, Michigan is an avid collector of African-American art, rare books, and historical documents pertaining to the African-American experience. The exhibition is traveling throughout the country, and has been seen at The Delaware Art Museum, the Ackland Art Museum (Univ. of North Carolina, Chapel Hill), and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art.
