The Heckscher Museum of Art was founded in 1920 by August Heckscher, industrialist, philanthropist, and resident of Huntington, New York. The Museum includes 185 works of art from Heckscher's own collection of European and American paintings, sculptures, and works on paper dating from the Renaissance period to 1920. Today, the Museum houses more than 2,000 European and American paintings, sculptures, and works on paper from the Renaissance to the present day.
