Kevin MacDonald, a well known contemporary Washington, D.C. artists, will exhibit to the four fundamental elements of nature.

His nominally realist paintings of unpeopled environments have a stark, often Hopperesque quality. They cannot, however, be identified with any style, and are innovative, often utilizing poetry, other cultural backgrounds and the environment around him for inspiration.

A native of Washington, D.C., MacDonald studied at the Corcoran School of Art and received his BFA from George Washington University. After a ten-year stint working at the Phillips Collection, he has devoted full time to creating works of art.

Represented by the David Adamson Gallery, MacDonald's work is in the collections of the Corcoran, the Phillips, the Hirshhorn Museum, the National Museum of American Art, the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum, as well as numerous private and corporate collections. Currently a member of the board of the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts, MacDonald previously was on the board of directors of the Washington Project for the Arts, and was a panelist for the Maryland State Arts Council.
