Treasures from the Westmoreland Museum of American Art
Treasures from the Westmoreland Museum of American Art will be on exhibit at Woodmere Art Museum from Dec. 13: 1998 to March 28, 1999.
This special local exhibition is made possible due to major renovations to the exhibition galleries at the Westmoreland which is located in Greensburg: PA. Normally on permanent view, the selection traveling to Woodmere numbers more than 20 and features artists with close Philadelphia ties. Mary Cassatt, William Michael Harnett,Robert Henri, Thomas Hovenden, Rembrandt Peale, Severin Roesen, and Gilbert Stuart are among the artists who will have works on display.
The Westmoreland endeavors to enrich and educate the public, and to stimulate and inspire through its exhibitions and collections of art and toys from the late 18th century to the present, with an emphasis on Southwestern Pennsylvania art.
