Georgia Museum of Art Launches Web Page

The Georgia Museum of Art has recently launched its new web page. Sponsored by the Friends of the Museum, the web site was designed by Jeff Walker, of jeffx(TM) Web Page Design in Athens, and includes the museum's general information, hours of operation and directions; a schedule of exhibitions; a list of museum publications; educational program information; a Friends of the Museum page; and information about the museum's collections.

By developing its exposure through electronic media, the Georgia Museum of Art hopes to expand its mission of education, research and outreach into the university community and beyond. The web page will not only increase awareness about the educational and cultural programs of the Georgia Museum of Art, but also will allow easier access to museum information.

The Georgia Museum of Art's permanent collection includes over 7,000 works of art featuring 19th- and 20th- century American paintings and American and European prints and drawings dating from the 16th century to thepresent, as well as the Samuel H. Kress Study Collection of Italian Renaissance paintings. Educational programs include lectures, Family Days, film screenings, studio art classes, concerts and more.
