February 27 - May 16, 1999
BAM presents Boise photographer Jim Talbot's unique photographic portraits in an exhibition opening to the public February 27, 1999. Talbot's works get straight to the heart and soul of his subjects. He pays careful attention to every detail of the dress and expression of his subjects, providing an in-depth look into their lives and environs.
Talbot aims to convey "a visual celebration of our individual differences." He will lecture about his work on March 4, at 5:30 p.m. at BAM's First Thursday ART Talk sponsored by Charles Schwab.
Talbot's photographs have been featured in numerous literary publications. Also, he received an Award of Excellence at the 48th Annual College Photographer of the Year, awarded by the National Press Photographers Foundation.
