14th annual C.M. Russell Museum Benefit

Over 220 miniature artworks by 125 artists personally invited to submit their works are in the exhibition and sale for the 14th annual C.M. Russell Museum Benefit. Nineteen of the artists were invited to participate in the Benefit for the first time. The C.M. Russell Museum Benefit exhibition opens July 16 and culminates on Saturday, September 11, 1999 when the pieces are sold by silent auction. The Benefit is a self-sponsored fund-raiser with the proceeds allocated for Museum exhibitions, programs and other educational activities.
The slogan Big Party! Small Art! describes the Museum's Benefit exhibition and sale. Small Art! is defined as paintings of a maximum of 144 square inches and sculpture up to 12 inches in any direction. The Big Party! is an elegant evening on Saturday, September 11. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. - sign up for a bid number, view the art while enjoying sumptuous hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, then commence bidding. Silent bidding in the first of four galleries closes at 8:15 p.m. By 9:15 p.m. the silent auctions will be over and an array of sinful desserts, generously donated by several volunteer chefs, complemented by gourmet coffee, will be served. The Big Party! also features live entertainment by Steve Seltzer and Bob McKinnon, and Lee Kohler and fiiends.. This year's door prize: every ticket holder will be eligible to win two collector's tickets to the C.M. Russell Auction of Original Western Art, courtesy of the Great Falls Advertising Federation. These collector's tickets are valued at $150.00 each and include early entrance to Quick Draws and Auctions with special seating preference, a private reception, and a color Auction catalog. For the art lover who would like to bid on a piece of art
but can't make it to the Big Party!, absentee bids are accepted.
Absentee bid forms may be picked up at the Museum's reception desk, or obtained
from Mike Bushly at 406-727-8787 or fax at 406-727-2402. Bid forms and a
brochure, complete with black and white photos of the artworks and opening
bids, can also be mailed upon request after August 1. Absentee bid forms
need to be returned in person, by mail, or fax by Thursday, September 9,
