Iowa Watercolor Society Exhibition

The Sioux City Art Center is hosting the annual Iowa Watercolor Society Exhibition through July 25, 1999.

The exhibition includes 35 watercolors by 34 Iowa artists chosen from 187 entries. The juror who selected this year's works is Jan Fabian Wallake, a professional watercolorist and workshop instructor from Minneapolis-St. Paul. She is currently president of the Minnesota Watercolor Society.

Three artists from Siouxland are featured in the show: Karen Forbes (712-276-2525) of Sioux City, Glenda K. Drennen (712-546-8207) and Jane Schultz (712-546-5042) both of LeMars.

The Iowa Watercolor Society is an organization of beginning, amateur and professional painters, as well as interested supporters. The only requirement for membership is Iowa residency and a love for watercolor. The society began in 1977. The focus is to organize the annual competitive exhibition and watercolor workshops.
