The APA was organized in 1982 for the purpose of promoting professional-quality art depicting the land and people in that large portion of the United States known as the Plains. Artists may apply for membership in APA by writing to the address shown above. The 1997 exhibition, the 13th Annual Ellen Noel Museum Benefit Show and Sale, is being held at the Ellen Noel Museum of the Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas.
