In 2011 TFAO undertook a significant editing project including many Resource Library Magazine pages. Resource Library Magazine was the predecessor of Resource Library. The history of Resource Library Magazine is contained in Resource Library's Overview section.

The existing legend at the bottom of some pages was often replaced with a new legend, which may have several components.

-- Many pages included thumbnail images with a thin red border. Clicking on these images provided an enlarged image. A new legend component was added at the end of some pages with thumbnail images to help readers be better aware of the enlargement feature.

-- Prior to editing, the main body of content of some pages of articles published almost exclusively prior to December 2001 contained historic artist names with links to biographical sources mostly outside of TFAO's Free Online Digital Library. Some of the artist name links were broken. Other links routed readers to Web pages that contained biographical information of less merit than more recently published information. TFAO removed such artist name links for articles published prior to December, 2001. In substitution, TFAO directed readers to America's Distinguished Artists, a national registry of historic artists, which has newer and richer biographical information. There may be an inconsequential number of such links remaining for articles published past November, 2001.

-- For some pages:

directions to a page containing information on the history of the publication was added, plus a date of revision for the page,
 
old routing information within the TFAO website was removed. In substitution, a line was added guiding readers to Resource Library's title page, where there is a search feature for the entire site,
 
a revised copyright statement was added.

During this process, other formatting and presentation revisions were made within some pages. Modifications in the legend were made as the update continued. A few pages contained no changes since they had been updated in prior years.

Editing is complete through articles dated 4/1/97 through 2/28/04
