Contractor Relationship Information



1. Near-perfect proofreading accuracy is required to keep the trust of the authors, students and teachers who rely on TFAO's standards. OCR scanning, proofreading and formatting could be conducted through a separate contract by another party if agreed to by TFAO and contractor, but it is preferred to keep the work unified.

2. If 50% of text inquiries result in permissions, (identification of copyright owner(s) @ .5 hours + permissions process @ .5 hours = 1 hour x 2 = 2 hours invested to produce one permission) $47.25/ 2 hours = $23.63 / hour actual compensation for one permission granted. $23.63/ hour x 162 hours per month x 12 months = $45,937 equivalent annualized income for the permissions portion of the work. According to the fall 2003 National Association of Colleges and Employers Salary Survey, average salary offers for Visual Arts careers were $23,000 to $34,000.
