There are a myriad of subjects suitable for production
and streaming of videos. Some include:
- Interviews of notable artists, an artist's descendants,
experts in art history such as curators, writers, docents, and other informed
individuals.
- Videography on location where works of art were created
en plein air. Such videos help viewers further understand the setting
where important works were created.
An excellent example of art-related videography published
on a commercial website is Endorphin
Productions' video news magazine. Bob Franco is Publisher and Executive
Editor. Following are examples of Endorphin's work:
- Curator Deborah Epstein Solon narrates a video on the
exhibition "In
and Out of California, Travels of American Impressionists" held
at the Monterey Museum of Art and the Laguna Art Museum. [4
minutes, 41 seconds]
- In another video, artist David Ligare speaks about his
exhibit, "Viewpoint:
The Pastures of Heaven," held at the Steinbeck Center in Salinas,
California. In this 2-part video Ligare explains how his works are inspired
by Steinbeck's books. [part 1: 3 minutes, 26 seconds;
part 2: 3 minutes, 22 seconds]
- A 2-part video covers the art of Wah
Chang during his animation career in Hollywood.
[part 1: 3 minutes, 18 seconds; part 2: 4 minutes, 54 seconds]
- A three-part video covers the art of Cartoonists
of Carmel. Dennis Renault, retired Sacramento Bee political
cartoonist, Robert Blaisdell, retired filmmaker, Eldon Dedini, a cartoonist
who's work has been in The New Yorker and Playboy, Roy Gillian,
mystery writer, Gus Arriola, creator of the strip "Gordo", and
Hank Ketcham, Dennis the Menace, sat down for coffee and conversation. [part 1: 3 minutes, 50 seconds; part 2: 2 minutes, 22 seconds;
2 minutes, 1 second]
- In a 4-part video Grace
Slick talks with Bill Phillips about various aspects of her art; how
she begins a piece, how she arrives at a particular style, and her choice
of materials. [part 1: 4 minutes, 5 seconds; part
2: 4 minutes, 23 seconds; part 3: 3 minutes, 42 seconds; part 4: 4 minutes,
10 seconds]
