About the Missoula Art Museum
Accredited by the American Association of Museums since 1987, the Missoula Art Museum collects, preserves, exhibits and researches art that is relevant to the culture of the American West with an emphasis on contemporary Montana artists. From the earliest acquisitions of work by Missoula's Frontier artist Edgar S. Paxson to recent acquisitions to the Contemporary American Indian Art Collection, the MAM Collection has preserved the work of significant and under-recognized artists. Works in all media provide a glimpse of the diverse and ever-evolving creative landscape of Montana.
During restoration and expansion of the Carnegie building (fall 2004 through spring 2006), MAM is presenting exhibitions and educational programs from a Temporary Contemporary museum in the historic Florence Building in downtown Missoula.
The Missoula Art Museum is located at 335 North Pattee, Missoula, Montana 59802. The Temporary Contemporary is located at 111 North Higgins, Florence Building -- First Floor Lobby. For hours and admission fees please see the museum's website.
