The TFAO Free Online Digital Library
For content digitized and stored in outside web sites, such as museum web sites or other online collections, Traditional Fine Arts Organization (TFAO) publishes catalogues of hyperlinks to that content. The catalogues are then stored in TFAO's library. While these catalogues are a valuable asset, over the passage of time some of their collected links become obsolete. This is largely because other online digital collections sometimes reorganize their stored content and assign new URLs to portions of that content. In other cases the online material is not permanent.
As the Web matures, stability and continuity of online materials is becoming more prevalent. The emergence of digital libraries at universities and as divisions of physical public libraries is accelerating this trend. Standards and best practices are being developed to enhance the accessibility, quality and continuity of digital collections. UC Berkeley's Digital Library Project, the Online Computer Library Center and Alexa Internet are developing access to archived versions of Web pages that have been removed from the Web.
Individual pages in this study will be amended as TFAO adds content, corrects errors and reorganizes sections for improved readability. Refreshing or reloading pages enables readers to view the latest updates.
