Virtual Volunteering Opportunities
The TFAO you see today is largely the result of generous gifts of time and talent on the part of thousands of individuals from all walks of life. In keeping with its principle of free service to all, TFAO has been operated by volunteers from its inception. TFAO has no employees.
TFAO welcomes volunteers to further the broadening of knowledge of American representational art. Individuals who are:
are all welcome.
When you become a virtual volunteer you can help TFAO any time and anywhere. Projects are completed off-site in residences of volunteers or at other locations where access to email and the Web is available.
Virtual volunteering is best suited for individuals who enjoy library science, art history and research projects. Volunteers choose their own hours and work independently.
A July 14, 2009 Wall Street Journal article titled "Starting Fresh With an Unpaid Internship" says:
TFAO volunteers have an opportunity to "stay busy, gain new skills and expand their networks" in several volunteer positions.
We are proud to acknowledge our volunteers' efforts in published texts.
Opportunities for Volunteers
Project-related out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursable within guidelines agreed upon between TFAO and volunteers.
