Publicity articles

Resource Library publishes, archives and maintains thousands of exhibition publicity articles accompanied by low resolution images. All materials concern American representational art and are published without charge to readers and institutional sources including museums, art centers and historical societies.

Upon Resource Library invitation regarding specific exhibitions, Resource Library invites sources to send for publication, in addition to media releases and images for exhibitions, available texts from gallery guides, member magazine articles, exhibition wall panels, label copy and checklists. Such additional text is often reprinted -- in whole or part -- within this publication's publicity articles to further inform readers. Resource Library publishes, however, no publicity articles concerning student exhibitions or group exhibitions of artist organizations at museums or art centers. Resource Library selectively publishes publicity articles concerning exhibitions of artist organizations' individual members at museums or art centers. Artist organizations include cooperatives, clubs and other membership societies.

For greater service to readers Resource Library requests that, wherever possible, publicity text and images not be redundant with text and images published in other American art publications.

Sources and source documents are thoroughly identified and credited; links are provided to institution website and appropriate phone numbers are provided.

Before sending texts and images, please see Resource Library's guidelines for submitting materials and content presentation guidelines.

Unsolicited emails

Resource Library's publisher, Traditional Fine Arts Organization, methodically requests from institutional sources news releases and other texts relating to exhibits of American representational art. Resource Library is receiving, however, a growing amount of emails on many other topics from hundreds of museums and other sources. This volume can overwhelm our capacity to read all of them.

TFAO is careful to keep aware of sources' current and upcoming exhibits by reviewing source web sites periodically to retrieve information on them. For a list of institutional sources please see the Art Museum, Gallery and Art Center index and Academies, Associations, Ateliers and Societies index. Because of our method of learning about upcoming and current exhibits, we request that listed sources please remove tfaoi.org from general media mailing lists.

For more information on methodology of TFAO's request system please see National Calendar of Exhibitions.
