Joan Fitzsimmons: Introduction to Landscape

Joan Fitzsimmons of Shelton, CT will exhibit her "Introduction to Landscape" at Fairfield University's Lukacs Gallery, Loyola Hall, Room 17, from Tuesday, Oct. 17, through Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000. Two years ago Fitzsimmons began her exploration of landscape when she was invited to participate in an exhibit documenting New Haven parks. Her show consists of large-scale black and white photographs of landscapes, selectively bleached and toned. She continues to examine her personal relationship to the landscape and a recent residency at Weir Farm in Wilton allowed her to further develop her imagery.
