exhibits "From West to Wyeth: Sixty Years of Collecting and Exhibiting
the Art of Philadelphia" September 24, 2000 - January 21, 2001, which
will promote public awareness of the Museum's remarkable holdings of Philadelphia
art and will present an historical array of art from the 18th century to
the present, according to Michael W. Schantz, Ph.D., The Patricia Van Burgh

This major exhibition will take a comprehensive
look at the collecting and exhibiting of Woodmere Art Museum over six decades.
The exhibition will showcase works from Woodmere's permanent collection,
and demonstrate the considerable breadth of the Museum's collecting enterprise.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Woodmere will unveil a newly published
collections catalogue highlighting Philadelphia art in the permanent collection.

The selection exhibited will feature works
by Thomas
Pollock Anshutz, Daniel
Garber, Frederick
James, Violet
Oakley, Edward Redfield,
Benjamin
West, and Newell Convers Wyeth.
Others include: Severo Antonelli, Jane
Piper, Herbert Pullinger, Jesse
