Sample Agreements for Museum Exhibitions



 

 

Following are sample agreements for study in the development of exhibitions designed to tour to multiple venues. They were prepared by collecting actual agreements used by various American art museums and combining elements of them to arrive at a composite agreement.These sample agreements are for educational purposes only and are not to be considered legal documents. They have not been reviewed by legal counsel and may be incomplete, inaccurate and not reflective of the needs of any particluar situation.

Curator Agreement The purpose of this type of agreement is to memorialize the understanding between the organizer of an exhibition and the person who will fulfil the role of curator for the exhibition.
 
Exhibition Agreement This type of agreement is designed to memorialize the understanding between the organizer of an exhibition and an institution who will host the exhibition at its facility.
 
Lender Agreement The purpose of this type of agreement is to memorialize the understanding between the organizer of an exhibition and a person who will lend one or more art objects for the exhibition.
